Terms & cancellation
A starting point, not legal advice. Adapt these terms to your own practice before relying on them.
Sessions and fees
An initial assessment lasts 90 minutes and includes a written summary in plain English. Therapy sessions last 45 minutes. All fees are published on the fees page, always visible, never "on application". Fees are reviewed once a year, with at least a month's notice to existing families. Payment is by bank transfer or card, within 48 hours of each appointment.
Cancellation
Family life is unpredictable, and the policy tries to be fair in both directions:
- More than 48 hours' notice: no charge, and we rearrange.
- Less than 48 hours' notice: the session is charged in full, because the time was held for your child and can rarely be refilled at short notice.
- The poorly-child exception: children get ill without warning, so the first short-notice cancellation in any block of six sessions is always waived.
- If I cancel: you'll never be charged, and you'll be offered the next available time that works for your family.
Working together
A parent or guardian stays for every clinic and home session; for nursery or school visits, arrangements are agreed in writing with you and with staff. Goals are set together in blocks of six sessions with an open review at the end of each block, and you can pause or end the work at any time. I practise within HCPC standards and RCSLT guidance, hold full professional insurance, and receive regular clinical supervision.
Confidentiality and safeguarding, in brief
What your family shares stays private. Reports and updates go to nursery, school, your GP or NHS services only with your explicit consent. The one limit is safeguarding: if I believed a child was at risk of harm, I have a professional duty to act on that concern, and I explain plainly how that works before we begin.
